Basic Safety Training (BST)
Training Overview
- BST First Aid
- BST Manual Handling
- BST Fire Awareness
- BST Working at Heights
The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) program equips wind industry personnel with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to work safely and effectively in the unique environment of wind turbines. Through modules in First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, and Working at Heights, participants learn to prevent incidents, respond confidently to emergencies, and apply industry best practices that protect both themselves and their teams. Each component of the training blends theoretical understanding with hands-on application to ensure technicians are fully prepared for real-world situations.
Participants develop the ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening medical conditions, minimize musculoskeletal injury risks, prevent and manage fire hazards, and safely perform work and rescues at height. By building competence in these critical safety domains, the BST program enhances the overall safety culture of wind operations and ensures technicians can perform their duties with confidence, precision, and a strong commitment to protecting life and property in the field.
