This course provides an understanding of the switching process for medium voltage transformers and switchgear, such as pad-mounted transformers and gas-insulated switchgear used in generation equipment. Technicians will gain the knowledge required to identify electrical hazards, review collection system one-line diagrams, perform pre-switching inspections, and safely isolate or re-energize equipment. Additionally, participants will develop the skills necessary to properly install Temporary Protective Grounds.
