This course provides an understanding of utility-scale solar power generation systems. The technician will gain the knowledge required to diagnose inverter, DC field, tracking, and medium voltage system faults, and to execute troubleshooting procedures to restore equipment to an operating condition. Additionally, the technician will learn the skills necessary to perform component-level troubleshooting and removal and replacement activities to efficiently resolve identified equipment failures.

Training Content

Components identification, schematic reading, troubleshooting techniques, inverter theory and operation, DC field troubleshooting, communication networks, component replacement, tracking system operation and diagnostics, medium voltage switching, and safely returning equipment to operation.
